Hey guys, newbie here!
I am looking at buying a c3 vette (some what obvious from the forum), but I was wondering how feasible it is to do an engine swap. I am looking at an ls1, lq4 or if I need to, an lt1. What should I keep in mind? Is it an expensive conversion. Any of you guys have an success stories?
Thanks.

pretty easy swap depending on the year of the car. Most all the LS1, LT1,or any of the crate motors will go in.The year of your vette will make a difference on the mods needed to do this, older the car more mods needed.

Thank you very much!
Any personal knowledge of a sucessful transplant with a lq4 or lq9 motor? They can be had much cheaper than the ls1, and are a similar size. I am hoping this would fit as well.

The guys over at Cartek in NJ are putting all the new LS motors in C3s. I know theres a lot of fabrication to do but I saw there swaps. It is doable and looks great. Personally, I'd do a zz4 to keep it simple..

To elaborate... All engines up to the LS series will bolt right in, big block or small. Even LT1s bolt right in , with only a little concern for coolant routing and computer placement. But the LS engines have a different motor mount location, and everything else is different, too. So it is a lot more work, but pretty cool if you care to do it.
For power per dollar, it is hard to argue with the ZZ4 swap.

You might want to review your local laws on what will pass inspection for your year car.
