Hi,
I am looking at buying a 70 corvette. The engine does not turn off right away when the car is turned off. It continues to sputter for a bit. Any idea what kind of problem this is? The engine has been rebuilt.
Thanks

That could be as simple as the timing advanced too far, idle speed set too high, or in serious overall need of a tune-up. It could be more but any of those could be the easiest to deal with.

Low octane fuel with the timing that it's set at which Gunslinger stated could be a factor.

Gunslinger is on the money again. Definitely sounds like he timing is too far advanced.
