hi everyone,
i am about to media blast a couple of rusty engine pulleys.
my question is"
is it OK to blast the inside of the grooves?
as with most pulleys, this looks to be normally shiny.
it looks to be a pain to have to mask them off.
i'm sure someone out here has blasted and painted their pulleys ! Smile
thanks in advance for the help !
joe

Joe,

I had all of my pulleys media blasted.  They were painted w etching primer & underhood black paint (from Eastwood).

The grooves were blasted & painted.

I've had no problems so far.

Anthony

I don't see any problems with it, either...
I've sand-blasted many a pulley with no ill effects.
