i never thought about it before but the header on driver side sits about 3 cm lower than other side. it sometimes causes when having to pass over a bigger bump the flange of the header scratching the ground...now that i am looking for a new exhaust system i started measuring all clearances so i won't get the same situation again.....i found out that my engine is not level and that most likely cause one header to have less ground clearence.
i have measured .. as far as possible (it is soo narrow under the car) the height of the engine mount brackets on the frame and it seems they are both at same height above the ground...so actually it should be possible to get the engine level...... but how to ....i wonder now if i losen the motormount bolts to engine a bit, would there be some room to lift/rotate the engine a bit upwards on the driverside? or maybe put some shims to get engine leveled?

Arthur, I believe you have mis-matched headers. If the engine is in the mounts, it is most likely correct. It seems you have two different brands of headers.

Other than the header collectors not being the same height above the ground, what other indication do you have that the engine is not level?

that was what i always thought..but now i think they are the same.... i will check it again :)
when i put a level on the engine i can see it is not level..driverside is lower , will measure again on other points too

You might try removing the air cleaner and putting your level across the carburetor mounting surface.

Before any of the above suggestions make sure the spot where the car is sitting is level. Then measure from the floor to the frame on both sides of the car to make sure it is sitting level on the suspension -- OR -- put the car on jack stands. There is the possibility that either the frame or suspension components is causing the engine to be half-a-bubble-off-plumb.

it looks like you were right....it was a bit juggling to measure through small openings the distance between the top flange of the header at the header leg... i solved this with a piece of rope and found out that the headers are different from eachother.
problem looks solved now, i only must pay good attention if i get new full lenght header to the distance between top flange and the leg of header
