I'm currently researching whom to buy it from (suggestions)and I think my Brother in Law and I will drop it in in January.

I'm going to bolt it up to my Turbo 350.

BTW, I'm going to store the original engine, any suggestions how to do this properly?  Don't want to ruin it.

You won't be disappointed with the ZZ4. I've got one in my '69 and it's a great motor...plenty of power for the street

Vette(s): 1972 coupe/350 cid/mild cam/4 spd/20 ft. paint (looks perfect from 20 ft.), but it sure runs nice.

ZZ4 is in my future plans....may get the GM Performance Parts shortblock from Summit or another source. Slap the heads and the rest on myself.....probably as close as I'll ever get to building an engine. I'm looking forward to the task.

Vette(s): Frederick County Corvette Club (Maryland) Tan 64 365 Hp Conv 4 sp Red 72 4 sp Conv ..running a '68 327 Blue 76 Coupe L 48 4 sp White 79 Coupe L 82 auto Silver 98 Conv, 6 sp 35th Anniv '88 vette

Lets put it this way....

IF you were looking at a car that was for sale.. (Chevelle,Corvette, Nova, etc)....and on the windshield it listed the engine as:

      Rebuilt original
      Jasper
NOM but it came from somekind of Chevy (truck who knows)
      ZZ4
      ZZ3
      HO350

What would you like to see...?

ANY car guy (well any Chevy guy) will know that a ZZ4 is a major plus...

I have been toying with replacing the L82 in my 79...and to be honest
I really do not need a ZZ4 ...,in that car... !  BUT if I were replacing the engine in either the 76 or 72...I honestly would NOT consider anything else but a ZZ4 ...

Money...whats Money?   I just dropped almost 3 grand for a new telescope...sure did not need another one .but damn life is too short to not to open your wallet IF it will make you happy...

Go for it...

Bob G.

Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!

To store the old engine fill it up with oil, and I do mean FILL it up. Cylinders, crankcase, everything.  Spray it with oil. and store it in a enclosed bin to hold all that oil.  Under these conditions, you could keep it 100 years and it would never change.  Well the paint may come off.

Hey Jim,

Go for the gusto and drop a ZZ383/425HP in it.

I wish they had that engine on the market when I did my engine swap. Good luck with your project!

Must be that "country air"...

I finally got my waterpump replaced and rebuilt the Quadrajet... thanks to Ken and others on this Forum . Waiting now for some GM hoses to come in... decided not to go chrome... kinda use to the Bright orange I guess... now for some GM hoses and wire looms to help dress it up...
