Vette(s): 1980 t-top coupe currently in restoration phase

We have recently become the proud owners of an '80 T-Top, 350, small block Corvette. Where would you recommend looking for chrome replacement parts for the engine?

Thank you.

Harlan and DeeDee

Be careful of stamped steel chrome valve covers. The cheaper ones, while nicely chromed and beautiful in appearance, are made of thin gauge metal and are very "springy" in nature. The hold-down screws will constantly back off from the flexing and leak oil. I learned that the hard way. Cast aluminum valve covers don't seem to have that problem.

As far as where to buy chromed (or polished aluminum) replacement parts, I would avoid the parts you see at flea markets...no place to take them back if you're unhappy with them. Stick with places like Summit Racing or Jeg's...they carry quality stuff and have great service. Your local speed shops are good as well.

Vette(s): 1965-327 coupe, 1968-small block coupe, 1969-427, 1971-454 coupe and currently a 1976-ZZ4 coupe reborn again,and hotter than ever.. Add a 1996 CE LT-4 for backup

I have used some parts from  Zoops, www.zoops.com and Proform at www.proformparts.com. I have never had to return anything so I don't know if they would hassle you or charge you a restocking fee?..Good luck..Terry
