I have now reached "beyond frustrated".

There has to be an easier way to lock these brake shoes back on without taking the entire azz end of the car apart....

It looks like the only way is to tear down the hubs and trailing arms after pulling the axles.

Who knows the secret?

 Help !

Jim I haven't done those without having the hub off..I can't imagine doing it with it on..there are some on here that have..but it sounds like it takes days and nothing but peod and frustrated..thing I have found is if you need shoes you probably need bearings also..just a thought..the hub takes a few whacks and its off..set up the bearings and tap in new seals..the shoes take about 10 minutes to do..it really isn't that hard to do bearings..or have the arms rebuilt by Bairs or so..danascar did his shoes before the MAM meet..maybe he has some tricks on how to on the car without pulling your hair out..

It is an extreme PITA but I did it. It took the better part of 2 days on and off to relieve the frustration. RThe one trick I did and I got from somebody else onthe forum is clamping the shoe retainer springs in a vise and tieing them with dental floss to keep them compressed. I used that in combination with the Zip article above, which makes it sound a lot easier than it is. Be sure you use the stainless steel hardware kit. No need to take the link apart between the cable and the shoes. Instructions with the kit tells you take apart to install. You can work the link in. Other than that just have lots of patience as stated in the article. Good luck!!
