My emergency brake handle does not ratchet and the push button popped out. Has anyone experienced this issue and if so what is the fix for it?

Without the pushbutton, it is next to impossible to release the park brake, so it is possible someone "modified" the mechanism to keep it from working properly, instead of just fixing the problem. Only way to know for sure is to remove the PB console and have a look-see.

The handle operates fwd and backward without ratcheting. It does not hold. The push button is off the handle. I have been doing some research but I have not found anything related. I will do as you suggest and remove the console and take a closer look at the handle and mechanism. Thanks!

This should give you an idea of how it works...
