I have really screwed something up and now none of my courtesy lights work! Everything else is fine, but the rear and both front lights are dead..... On the drivers door, there are two wires a black and white, is either of them suppose to have current to them, or are they both grounds, better yet, where does the black one go? I know the white goes under the dashboard to the door jam on the passenger side. I have another whit wire which comes out from behind the steering column.. according to my meter, this wire is hot! According to mjy diagram, this wire should connect to the two white wires connected to each door jam...

Can you help? otherwise I'm putting a flashlight in the drivers seat

The white one is from the interior lights.  The lights are always hot.  The white wire is the ground, so it shows hot with your meter until it is grounded.  The switch provides the ground.   The black one is only on the drivers door.  It provides a ground for the key alarm buzzer.

Ken, when I connected the white one from the lights to the two white wires attached to the jam, after about 30sec, the white wire from the lights was warm to the touch..   any ideas?

Sounds like too much amperage,  perhaps a short in the system.
