Hi there Vette Fans!!

I am about to have some gears ordered for my 79. The vendor I called asked if it was a Dana, Corporate or Australian rear. What are the differences between these and how can I tell???

Thanks |thumb|

Huh! Never heard of that. I ordered mine from Randy's Ring and Pinion and all I did was give them the year, make and Model and what ratio I wanted.

I know that '80-'82's are (aluminum) a Dana 44. I'm assuming that the '79- previous are some type of (cast iron) Dana design. I will try to find out exactly what manufacture made the '79 and back diff's. Unless someone here can beat me to the punch.

Australian design axle was mainly in the Camaro and Firebirds. '82-up.

Corporate axles I believe were used in the rear drive Cutlass, Monte Carlo, Regal and Grand Prix's.

That is stange that they asked you who manufactured the axle. |headscratch|
