Im trying to figure out what engine is in my car, The numbers on the front right block appear to be: V010 TWZ may be a 9 in the middle.
I can't go by the vin # is a "J " . I have a 400 trans which im told is not factory. Is this an L-82?

V0109 is a Flint Michigan Block (V) 0109 would be January 9th
TWZ is a 350 /165HP motor from 1978.

Your car would have a 400 trans from the factory if was originally an automatic. This is not to say the trans you have is the original one, just the correct type.
The "J" in your VIN is for an L48, 165hp engine...the engine you have is also an L48(165hp), but it's not a Corvette engine.
