I have just scoured the wiring diagram and can't find a light for my cruise control on my 77.Is there one? Also did anyone that had the problem of acceleration that doesn't quit after engaging the cruise find a fix? Thanks

Whaddya mean, light?
Ya mean a light on the dash that says "Cruise Engaged", or something??? Ain't got one.
If it keeps accelerating after getting to the set speed, it is most likely a transducer issue, or the vacuum servo(or one of the vac. lines) may have a small leak in it. I know...hard to believe a Shark car with vacuum issues, but it could happen...

Audiovox makes a good after market cruise control. I put one on a 240Z my 90 toyata and on my 77vette. It is Audiovox CCS-100.

Yup I too have an After Burner cleverly maskerading as Cruise Control, it's still on the to do list... has been for a year or so ! Just out of interest, according to the book the After Burner is not supposed to operate until speed is over 30mph or so, but mine will kick in at any speed when I push the button. Does yours behave properly in this respect, or is it the same as mine ?

I got the audio version but that wouldn't work in your car, Larry.

Hey rraider1....
Can the Audiovox unit use the existing wiring from the original steering column stalk? I put one on my '38 Pontiac with a '69 Nova tilt wheel and the original wiring runs the thing perfectly........ but that was over 15 years ago and I forgot what it was and who makes it.
I dread driving my '78 over 100 miles without cruise.... my right heel starts throbbing after an hour or so....
