I am purchasing 4 new 15 Cragar S/S wheels for my 1976 Vette. Does anybody know if you need to install spacers and if there are any clearance problems?

Dan

Depends on the backspacing of the rims. You need at least a 4" backspace to install without a spacer. The only real clearance problem you are likely to encounter is around the brake calipers.

Vette(s): 1978 (25th Annv. Edition)Red, Black interior, 4-Speed Transmission, L-82, Power & Air, Very Rare Option Package(Only 145 Red 1978s with a 4 speed trans) & Very Original Car, with original Window Sticker, Bill of Sale and all documentaion.

I put a set of 17 inch Crager SS's on my 78 last year with 4 1/2 inch back spacing, 8 inch in the front and 9 inch in the back. I had to put on spacers because they hit the calipers. It does not take much to clear them! They clears everything else on the car without them.

But man do the wheels look good!
