I was wondering if anyone knows the correct gas cap for a 75 coupe. It currently is a loose fitting aluminum color with a vent hole.  Eckler's has one for 75 to 77 but it appears different in looks and is Black Plastic. Also it doesn't specify vented or non.  Does it matter? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My 75 has a metal gas cap.  You can use non-vented.  The tank is vented throught the canister system.

My 76 has a ugly metal cap. It appears to be original. I've been watchin for something a little more classy but have'nt seen one yet that made my pocket itch. When I do the current one gets thrown into the 76 OEM box! Sure would be nice to find something with cross flags on it...

I got one of those black plastic caps that you put on and leave it there. It has a quick fill spring opterated round flap that you just put the gas nozzle in and fill her up.That way you can't lose you cap and if needed you can unscrew it.It's not factory but sure is convient.

I looked at these and thought I might like one, but I still think I wanna find something that spells out Stingray or Corvette. I have the rubber cross flag spill protector there now. I have even thought about buying one of the locking caps (because they are usually chrome with a smooth center) and applying the sunburst emblem to this. (You can buy the sunburst in just an adhesive rubber)
