My master cylinder seized up and I bought a replacement.  The new one came in and it doesnt match the old.  It also will no work with my current master cylinder.

now I have no idea whether the old ones are correct or fi the new booster is.

here are both

notice the mounting surface is completely different.

here is the old booster

and the new booster

Ben...can you look in the area I circled on this pic, and see if you can see the numbers? That will give us an idea of the year, and part number, so we can possibly confirm it's original application....

I know the booster on my '74 is flat where the master bolts up, as your "original" is. Can't say I've ever noticed one that was sunken in, as the new on is. I'm also thinking some big blocks had a smaller diameter booster to help clear the valve covers....

it looks like they sent you the booster for 64 to 67 not the 68 to 76

This style (sunken) is what willcox, corvette central and paragon all sell Those paragon does have a rebuilt original that look like my old one None of them seem to understand the difference between these boosters even though it is obvious

Dang...sure looked like they were there. There ARE numbers stamped on the front of that thing...somewhere....assuming it is an original Delco booster. If it is a reman, or aftermarket replacement, then all bets are off....Ouch
