I have bought a pr. of coil springs that are noticebly "fater",meaning the originals look to be about 5/8" dia. and the new ones 3/4".Some of the catalogues I have show coil springs for 77 small block.Does a big block car use these heavier springs?I don't see any listed for a big block. They are the same height as my originals.

big blocks normally use the larger dia springs and are slightly shorter --making them much easier to install --

Basically, the thicker the wire of the spring, the harsher the ride. And the fewer coils, the harsher. Yours should be about 5/8" diameter.
