I need to replace the clutch in my 78SA L-82. What is the clutch size, 10.4" or 11"? I see these two sizes when I'm shopping for an replacement.

Unless you are the original owner, and know for sure the clutch has never been changed, there's no way to be certain what size it has in it now. The L82 should require the larger(11") disc, but...who knows what it actually has in it now?
Then again, in '78, McClellan was doing everything he could to lower the weight of the car, so it may have come thru with the smaller set-up.
I can dig thru the parts manual and see if it is listed...

I think that if you have the large harmonic balancer, you will have an 11 inch clutch, if you have the skinny one it will be the 10.25,,rd

Parts manual shows 78 ONLY, without SPHP engine(L82), part #3841673 clutch pressure plate, which is 12 31/64".
'77-'78 w/sphp(L82), part #3884598, which is 11'.
Interesting to note, the L-88 cars used the smaller, 10 1/4" disc...the ZL1 used a dual disc, 10 1/2" set-up...
