Vette(s): 1979, Targa Blue (72 Color), Pace Car rear spoiler, L88 hood, Dark blue factory interior, 525HP 406, HD 700R4, 370 gears,Steeroids, composite rear spring, TT IIs wrapped in T/A Radials.
Wonder if the excessive heat could have let a stud wuggle up a little bit (assuming they are pressed in). For the heck of it, it would cost nothing but a little time to yank off a valve cover and adjust the valves really quick.Lamp
 
Find a buddy to assist if you've never done it yourself...
 
Although, if the valve was far enough out of adjustement, you'd normally hear it at idle as well.
 
Couldn't hurt!!Wink
