The other day My Girl started making a funny noise up front of the motor. At first I thought it was the alternator. I removed the belt and it still made the same noise. I noticed the harmonic balancer was scraping the timing cover. Well ya know I got stuff to do, I'll take care of that one of these days. I'm going on a cruise this weekend so I decided to get er done. I'll bet there was a 1/2 " to go before it flew off.phew What a mess that would end up makingAngry. So moral of story. Make sure you check your balancer once in a while. Its cheaper than replacing your fan, radiator, shroud, hood, etc.,etc.

Good thing you caught that Terry.  That could of been ugly. Ouch I've heard stories of them coming off and going right out the side of the car ! Would definitely ruin your day !
