Well Monday was a nice day and the ole 68 Vette's belts had been squeaking lately, so I proceeded to change the belts. I removed the alternator so I could get to the power steering pump and loosen it up as well. Once done I realized that I could not get the new water pump/power steering belt on, as they are deep groove pulleys.

So I proceed to tug and pull for the next 10 minutes (like an idiot). Believe me, its been a while since I've changed the belts, I'm getting older and can't remember XXXX sometimes. So I finally came to my senses and removed the fan clutch. Amazing, I'd forgotten that the water pump pulley pulls right off. Made it easy to put the belt back on, and bingo! I'm back in business.

So the lessen learned! Don't forget that the water pump pulley pulls right off after the fan clutch is removed. Just a reminder! 50 years old, thinking like I'm 95.

I'm lucky that I've never told anyone about this as I'd be embarrassed! Opps!

I would like to say I never do things like that. I would like to say it. But I'm just not that big of a liar. We all have our turn.

They say there are two thing that go as we get older. The first is your hearing, and I can't remember the other.

I turned 50 this year. All I can say is, "What happened"? I tend to forget just about everything and I'm in a business that requires attenetion to detail. What's the alternative to getting older? I really don't want to think about that option. We can always start a forum for senior Corvette moments. |laugh|

At least we have our vetts. Driving them makes us feel like 15 and not 50.......agreed! |cheers|
