Guess I've never had a flat before. I have an 81; got the lug nuts off but wheel won't budge.

Do I have to remove the hub cap?

thanks

Nope the alum wheel has bonded to the hub where the wheel studs are. Your guna have to thump on it a little. If you have a piece of 4x4 and a good size hammer try hitting the tire area first. If you have to hit on the rim itself protect it with a thick towel and use the board. Do not hit the rim direct with the hammer, spread the blow out using the wood. when you put it back on clean both surfaces and put some anti seize or a little grease in the old stuck areas.
Take your time and don't damage your rim or hit your finger! Wits EndCensored

Thumping it worked. Great suggestion; saved me a lot of time.

       Really appreciate the wisdom.

Mark, super, glad it worked out for you.
My father in law was a heavy truck mech. One of the smartest people I have ever met. He had a Chevy liesure van in the 80's with real pretty white powder coated alum rims. He had a flat on the road and that rim was stuck so bad. He did not have any wood being along side of the road and after many cussing minutes with no luck.....he beat the livin crap out of that wheel. He was still so mad when he got home he took the other three off and went out and bought new steel wheels for his van. After many garage sales he finally just gave them away still cussing at them.
Oh the memories........have a great weekend......now go take that C3 out for a shake down run!
