Given these circumstances what holley should I go with? When my dad gave me the vette it leaked gas from carb on to the intake. I took off the carb and rebuilt it. one problem, he hot roded the carb. It has no choke and he added a bowl kit for the other side of the carb. It runs straight off of vacuum. IM kind of scared of this set up. I am thinking about new carb. The car has an after market cam. A little better then the L82 cam, I want a good carb That I can take choke off and is easy to adjust. I want to get a good carb because later I want to buy a zz engine. Can someone give me some good carb Ideals?

The best street carb for a Vette is still the Quadrajet. It does need to be set up by someone who knows them for best performance.

Outside of that, I like the Edelbrock carbs...they're simple and hold their adjustments. They're available in electric choke and manual choke versions.

If you're determined to retain the Holley style...get a Demon carburetor. My own feeling is Holley, while a good carburetor, has rested on their past reputation while other makes have passed them by with regards to quality and reliabilty.

GM recommends the Holly 750 on there ZZ4 and there is one available through the speed catalogs ( Jegs, Summit ) with the shiny stuff on it for 279.00, elec. choke, just need the duel feed fuel line and a link. adapt. I put one on the '78, works great. I grew up with 'em so I don't know any better. Can't really afford those premium carbs but the edlebrock carb is well known for it's ease of use and dependability .Let us know what you chose and how it works.

For every day driving, I like the Edelbrock 1406 with electric choke.  But for a little more performance, I like the Holley 750 3310 model.  These are economical street carbs.  The Barry Grant is a great carb, but $$$.  I really like some of the newer technology he has come out with, but can't justify the price.
With any carb, it has to be tuned for your motor.

you guys gave me some good choices. its going to be edlebrock or holley  but what I dont know is what model. Will the 750 be to much for a 350 with a lite cam? I want something I can tune to my motor and  have a little to spare. not to worried about the price. Just have to know the correct model number and the easyest to tune. Any advise on this question? any pro's?

750 might be a bit too much. If I were you, and I'm not, I would go with a 650...but I don't know your motor. I run a 750 edlebrock on my ZZ-4.
Good luck
