Vette(s): 1975 convertible, with the hard top and power streering.it a 350 L48 with auto trans. the color is light blue.

I am changing the rear strut rod and camber bolt on both sides(figure I do both Left one is bent). Also At the same time I want to do my U-joins.Can I do this work on a drive on lift? The last time I had the car on a frame lift the left wheel hung down at more of an angle than the right wheel is this normal.I'm hoping that the bent strut rod is causing it to angle more when the car is lifted.

Gonna be hard to do the rear stuff with the tires on the ground. Not impossible, just a lot harder. You should be able to use a bottle jack under the frame, even on a drive-on lift, to get the suspension unloaded. If you try to remove the strut rods with the weight of the car on the rear, you're gonna get a big surprise, and possibly hurt. Please don't do it!
Ya gotta remember that the design on these cars has the rear half-shafts as suspension pieces, and they carry the weight of the car, as do the strut rods.
Jack the rear up enough to get the wheels off, and you'll have no problems.
Better safe than sorry.

And, to answer your other question, yes, a bent strut rod will let that side hang lower.
