INMO You would better of tryin ta put the C3 body on the C4 frame than going thru the pain of tryin ta swap out the brake and shock system of the C4. So much electronic gadgetry and so many brake lines to fool with it would just seem easier to me. Study the 82 model C3 suspension and make upgrades accordingly to what you want and work it from that angle. I think in the long run it will be easier, cheaper, and you will be equally as satisfied.

You can have your frame modified to use the C4 components, or you can also buy a complete, pre-modified frame. There are several places that do this now. Paul Newman Creations is one. It ain't cheap, tho...

It's not something I would attempt to do myself, even tho I've done some weird stuff in the past...

A guy had one at the Eureka Springs show with at least the C4 front suspension.  It was rough looking though.  It looks like he did it himself with a hacksaw and baling wire.

Well considering the the 77 is getting a supercharged 6.0 LS2 with a tremec T56. I was figuring it might as well have the susp. to go with it.  I said it was an Xtreme project.Big%20smile

As mentioned above there are several People who do the Conversion. If You go with one of the Aftermarket Frames there is a Possiblilty that Your State may Re Classify Your Car as a Kit Car. If You go with one of the ones who modifies a Stock Frame then it won't be a Problem. Of coarse it probably won't become a Problem anyway unless Cruise the DMV and point it out to them. That being said I would think the Aftermarket Tube Frames would be Stiffer and therefore Handle better. The C4 Rear is Narrower than the C5 so it fits better without using Fender Flares. Unless You want Flares. The Front end the C4 A Arms are Forged and the C5's are Cast. That being said most people feel that newer is better. Most of these Vette Rods have been built on C1 and C2 Bodys but the C3 is allmost the same thing as a C2. Richard....

Check out this link, they specialize in new frames made to use C4 suspension components.

Also, http://www.sriiimotorsports.com/ , they build tube frames that accept C4/C5 suspension components that your C3 body will bolt right on to.  The frame is expensive 10K I think was the price with C4 parts.

I talked to Tray waldon @ street shop inc today. They're makeing me a frame for my 77. I just have to take them my GS susp and they are modifying the rear for free and adding my front to the frame so i'll have a full rolling C3 chassis with full C4 susp and brakes. Thx for ya'lls help.
