Hello there folks!

Is there any trick to changing out the upper and lower busings on the fiberglass monospring at the rear.  I have jacks, stands, c clamps, vise C Clamps, etc.  I would hate to catch a spring in the mouth!

Thanks,

Rick

Position your jack towards the end of the spring, then use the c-clamp with two blocks of wood on the spring just inboard of the jack. That will keep the jack from sliding off the spring, and keep the c-clamp from damaging the glass spring.
Take the nut loose from one end of the spring, and lower the jack slowly. If you have the rear stabilizer bar, you'll need to remove the bracket for it from the t-arm in order to remove the spring bolt, and replace the upper cushion.
Other than that, it's pretty much remove/replace.

I just performed this last weekend and did it just as Joel said. It's a little nerve racking but I did it in about 30 min.  Some one had put some old spacers on mine to raise the car for larger tires on the rear.
Be careful.
