The rubber brake hoses are considered a safety item, and replacement with rubber hoses would incur absolutely NO deductions at all, unless they were yellow or something. The stainless hoses are great, tho...but wouldn't pass NCRS judging, as you know.
I bet if you look at all four of your rims on the inside, you'll see evidence of where at least one of the calipers has been leaking. Either that, or the master itself is leaking to the inside of the booster. The rubber hoses won't normally just give up the ghost while sitting...they will normally take a dump while driving...at the worst possible time.

just read your message reference brakes. I have been thinking of replacing my brake lines, hoses, calipers, and blocks. Where would you suggest I purchase these items? I've been checking various corvette parts suppliers, but confused on who to go to. One might have one thing and another might have something else. If you don't mind please advise. I have a '72.

if you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase your stainless brake lines? I've been wanting to replace all the lines and blocks along with the calipers. I have a Red '72.

I found that Jared at Corvette World had about the best price for the pre bent brake lines in regular or stainless and where easier to install then bend new ones. Stainless steel brake hoses can be purchased at a Hot rod/ performance shop like Karbelt Speed and Custom or SSBC
