brake question

does the front brake line get its "juice"from the front connection of the master cylinder?

I am going to say yes, my '76 has a rear caliper that was leaking before I got it, and the P.O. said it must still leak a little (after he re-sealed it) because the rear bowl of the master cylinder drains very very slowly. After the car sits for a month or two, the bowl will be empty. Just one more thing on "The List"

Yes, and the rear to the rear. They both go through the proportioning valve before they go on to the calipers.

The vette brakes are made up of basically two systems. A rear and a front. The only place that the two have a common bond is at the proportioning valve as already mentioned. The reservior stores the fluid for both systems, but in seperate "containers". The front side for the front, the rear for the rear. The one is a backup for the other. So, if you have a failure in one or the other, you still have 'some' brakes. (Not the greatest, but if you pump them up on a failure, you can still stop the car). I have been working on my brakes for over two years and have completely replaced every component in the system, at least ONCE. I know this system like the back of my hand.
