I am planning to do a brake job on my '81 and wondered if those check valve type bleeder screws really work and how many does it take per caliper, i was looking at my calipers today and it looked like there was 4 on each one, but i thought there was only pistons on one side, or am i seeing things. |headscratch|

FrankD,
I hear those bleeders work pretty good from a couple other people. I'm gonna try them on my car next time I go thru the brakes. Bleeding these brakes have always been a PITA! Last time it took about an hour and a half to get a good bleed on them.
There are 2 bleeders up on the front calipers (1 on each caliper) on the rears there are 4 bleeders (2 on each caliper.) And each cal. has 4 pistons.
Have fun! |biggrin|

I bought the speed bleeders when I reworked all of my brake system. Save yourself the money. I still need a buddy to tell me if air is coming out of the system, otherwise I would be running through the fluid guessing when it was clean. One of the bleeders doesn't seal well and the rest allow some fluid to reverse flow (with bubbles) before they lock up. Good luck.

R,
David

P.S. The real pain is bench bleeding the master cylinder, installing it, bleeding it again.
