I just installed a B&M contorller. I got mine fromEbay for $160 after using a 10% off coupon.

It works real good with my setup, BTO Trans install. I have it set to lock the converter when I hit 43mph and it disengages when I slow down to 40mph. I use to have to either downshift or turn off the lock-up converter if I slowed down and tried to speed back up again. If I didn't, the motor would chug or ping until the trans downshifted or I got the speed back up to above 40mph.

It is a little pricey but I think it was worth it.

Sounds like its working much like the factory setting.   Glad it's working well.

The nice thing about this setup is you can adjust it to what your needs are by a turn of th dial. It operates off a sensor that attaches to the speedo cable without any mods.
