Has anyone here dropped in a GM performance parts 572? My neighbor just bought a 2007 Z06 and the battle is on.I was thinking about going through this puppy over the winter anyway.

the only thing that you can do to catch up is buy a 2008 Z06
nothing you can do to a C3 will ever be enough.

I'm inclined to agree with Ben. Having driven my friends new Z06, I don't think you could build a "street driven" C3 that could come close to the performance of the Z06.
As for the 572, you're going to be required to run racing gas @ $5.72 per gallon and maybe get 6 or 7 MPG while the Z06 runs regular pump gas @ 30 MPG and will be turning a whopping 1500 RPM @ 60 MPH. Go figure.
Tux, the guy with the LS1 is dreaming if he thinks he's gonna hang with the Z06.

No he isn't even thinking of keepin up with the big dawgz. My point was only that he is way closer than we are with most of our older technology.
Shucks he could continue to throw $$$ at it and get closer though. Ligenfelter supercharger would begin to narrow the gap a smidgen more.....

Thats vote! But I think I'll have some for the Z06 soon. Atleast in a straight line anyway. You would be better off build a large cube SB. Something in the range of 472 with a tremec T56 and 4.10 gears. You should have a shot then in a straight line anyway. IMHO. Good luck with which ever you choose.
