I AM IN THE MIDST OF A FRAME OFF AN AM CONSIDERING ADDING HEADERS WHILE EVERYTHING IS APART. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE HEAT GENERATED WOULD MAKE FOR UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING. ANY COMMENTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THE CAR IS 73 CONVERTIBLE AUTO WITHOUT AIR.

I just put Jet Hot coated Hooker headers on my 75 Smallblock. The old headers were paper thin and looked like pretty cheap headers. The temperature drop was in excess of 30 degrees though! Used to get into the high 120s inside and now it stays in the low to mid 80s. Very Nice.

I just put a set of headman shorty headers on my car. I had them Jet Hot coated and it does seems to lower cockpit temps a bit. They certainly look nicer than OEM manifolds, not that you can really see much of them in a big block car with power brakes and air conditioning.

Jet-Hot is everything their brochure says. Just sent them a set of new '69 side exhaust for coating. Have a friend with a '66 427/450 roadster and he had the manifolds coated. It was like nite and day difference. You could actually open the hood and make carb adjustments without getting fried.

Have you given any thought on going for sidepipes? This would take off some of the heat from the interior. I'm using Stahl Headers on my 454 LS6.
