I noticed that many of the retailers offer original style rivets for ball joints. I'll be rebuilding my front end soon and I like the original look, what kind of a tool does it take to install these?
Thanks,
Matt

My guess is they probably will not pass the National Camel Riders Society inspection though. They even ding you for having the wrong trademark on fasteners. My thoughts are if it's not going to shows to be judged to the NCRS standards, why bother? By the same token, NCRS rules allows a conversion from a small block to a big block providing all numbers match, so go figure. Sign In to Like this post

,and if you think you can swap in a big block where a small block was, AND fool the judges,

Adam, with all due respect, it's been done. I think you might have already seen this post:

This was about the $160,000 vette sold at the recent Barret Jackson auction. An outstanding piece of research and well written report by Geoffrey Coenen (Dr. Rebuild)
Seriously, I have nothing against the NCRS or Bloomington people in the way they judge cars. In fact, the NCRS people were very helpful to me while I was Not Correctly Restoring my car. Sometimes it does become impractical to have a car that you are not afraid to drive regularly and still adhere to their standards though. Many enthusiasts that have their cars strictly for show won't even drive them. They trailer them around from show to show.
