Nope,,,,,

K, L, & W are the only engine codes listed here:

Which engine do you have?

I think it's a 73 with a 72 on the title.

Maverick,

It looks like the "J" Code engine is the 350ci "L-48".

Just out of curiosity do you have a '72 or a '73? Does it have a chrome bumper in the front?

Good luck,

Anthony

I'm confused why the Title says 1972 and the VIN #'s call for 73???? I just bought car. It's been daily driver for someone I've know for several years. Iam wondering if this is the car I want to invest alot of time and money in. Will it kill the value if I sell it down the road??

Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.
Maverick:
Mistakes at the Secretary of States office aren't unheard of. This "misprint" could have survived from the original licensing of the vehicle. And in my experience the S of S doesn't accept responsibility for this type of mistake, but places responsibility firmly on the owner's shoulder to review the information and make sure it is correct.

Don't know how it can be corrected either. I am assuming yours is NOT a front chrome bumper car?

Here is my guess. The VIN as he says is on the engine is different from whats on the car. My guess is that someone replaced the engine witha '73 and never told the local DMV as your supposed to. Or, someone at the DMV office seriously messed up. I had an old lady do my stuff and oh, boy! did she mess up my VIN. If I didn't make sure it was ok when she hit the big button I would have been screwed. It took her 3 tiems to get it right. Jeez dude seriously contact the DMV if we all can't figure it out. Don't do anythign to taht car until you find out its all cool. That car could have soem possible "legal" issues with the DMV, and once VIN numbers are issued, and printed for your title they are ireversable. the DMV will not change it.
