Has anyone installed the steeroids package on an 80 through 82 vette? The steering is probably the same as the earlier C-3s but Im trying to do my research before spending the $$. Im now about ready to order and install and am curious about any difficulties encountered. Larry, is the forum discount still in effect for the steeroids from vette specialties?

Steeroids guarantees that their system will fit, even with normal headers. And yes, we still offer the forum discount. Current price is $1,150.00, plus $50.00 shipping. Steeroids is advertising a sale on their web site. If they will discount for us, too, we will pass on that savings.

I have installed one on my 80'. Pretty straight forward. same as the other Years the most difficult part may be getting the bind out of the linkage as the Steering Wheel passes over Center. If your not getting anywhere try a couple of Spacers under the Dash. I have the newer style Gen II PS Pump. If you use one of these You will want a reduced flow pump or the car will feel like a Lincoln and not a Sports car.

Thanks Gale for the information, anyone else, regardless of year, have the same bind over center problem with steeroids?

Did one 1972...Every thing goes together pretty good, you may have to file a little bit on the driver's side motor mount to allow for the u jiont on the rack to turn without binding on one of the set screws....The only problem I had was... the connecting shaft was 1" too short, steeriods had not ever run into this problem before...go figure, I lenghten the shaft and everything is fine, once you drive with the new rack in you will be pleased how it handles. I am going to be putting another one on.. it's an 1982, once I get the interior done....Feb?? I do have some pics of the install of the 1972 if you need to see.
