Hey anyone! I bought a set of Kellsey Hayes Aluminum Slotted wheels (Used) to put on my 76. I was getting ready to mount them on the car after having the tires mounted and having them balanced. Do I need to run spacers on behind these wheels? Just wondering before I go and mount them.

I would take a wheel off and bolt the rim on and spin the rim around to see if it clears the calipers or roll bar. I would do this at the front and back wheels. Then you can decide what needs to be done to make it fit.

Are these the factory rims for 76 & up? I have a set off a 76 on my 74, and there is no clearance problems at all. (I assume you're saying these are wheels for a 'Vette ) Mine are made by Kelsey-Hays. There was a set of Anson 'Sprint' slotted wheels on my 74 when I bought it, that were put on it at the dealership when it was new. Those were no problem, either. I guess it would be a good idea to bolt 'em on & check, first, tho.

Thanks guys. They are factory slotted wheels for 76 - 79. But, I was not sure if they required spacers. Thought it best to ask first. I will put one on and check. I was assuming that since they were suppose to be factory aluminum wheels that they wouldn't need the spacers but, like I said, I like to ask questions first.

Your assumption was right... IF they were Factory you will not need spacers...GM is cheap no way would they have a wheel produced to fit a car then spend more money to produce a "special" spacer ...

BTW....They do not look like, nor are they "SLOTS" ... lol

Thanks Bob. I will remember the info about the "SLOTS". I had heard them referred to that way before so just thought it was what the were called.

Makes sense.
