While configuring a SBC with roots style supercharger for my '76, I found that the single groove pulley on the crank for power steering has to be removed to allow alignment of the charger belt. I am thinking the power steering could be driven from the altenator if it had a double pulley. Is this the best route to take? Where do I find a double pulley alternator? I believe C4's were ribbed and won't work.

Some older Chevy trucks had a double pulley alternator. I know the larger 2 1/2 ton trucks running 366 or 454 cu.in. motors had double pulleys. I had one on a '67 Chevy 1/2 ton. Good Luck!

You could look into a single serpentine system. March Pulleys & Brackets may be able to help. They sell their products through Summit Racing & Jegs. Someone on the tech line should be able to help you.
