Vette(s): 1979 Black coupe. 11256 original, documented, miles on it when I bought it in April of 2000. It now has 13100 on it. Oyster interior, like new. Everything original, everything works, except the clock. Paint has a couple of minor flaws.
I remember reading something about polishing aluminum wheels with a polishing compound from Mothers. Whoever did it, said that it took a lot of elbow grease, but the final results were great. Sounds like a wintertime job, while watching Rams Football, Blues Hockey... Bet you can't tell where I'm from!!! |smile|

I recently sanded and polished my wheels on my '77. It did take a long time, but it was worth it. There are some pics if you click the link in my sig. There is one good shot with the back wheel sanded and polished while nothing was done to the front, you can really see the difference. I used Mothers aluminum polish on my wheels... it works good. As far as rubber goes, I have some Goodyear Eagle GT IIs and I like them a lot. They hold up well and provide good traction.

I will check at work for the name, but there is a company making billet aluminum reproductions of ralleye wheels in 16 - 18 inch sizes. That would be the best of both worlds - classic styling and modern rubber. For 15" tires, I thought all 70's vettes came with Radial T/As. Joe

Vette(s):
SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe
It's my understanding that '70s came with F70-15s from either Firestone or Goodyear. I'm pretty sure mine had the Goodyears as what looks to be the original spare is still under the car in the tub.

The red wings have a great team, except for 1 player. I didn't like him when he played for the Blues. What a crybaby. Excuse me, a Rich CRYBABY....
I think they kind of met their match in Colorado. Whoever wins between these two should win the Cup.... |smile|

By the way, You can beat the Blues, But the Lions had better watch out for the RAMS...... |thumb|
