Vette(s): 1982CE,32,000 and counting. (fast!!) 1981 Vette, black on black. ZZ4 (quick!!)
As most of you know I got an 81 black on black two weeks ago. It's pretty quick so I got some #'s off the front. I couldn't see the #'s on the rear. The #'s I have are V0601ZDD the 6 might be something else. Under that is some smaller #'s that as the best I can see are JB6428797. The J&B might be something else. also. The guy I got the car from did not install the engine and from how he talked he didn't know. He just told me it's a 350HO. The car also has a turbo 400 with a hole shot shift kit and a 1,200 stall. The stall sounds pretty stock but I'm not that up on them. Whats the stall in a stock Vette? Thanks.

You can change a lot of internal parts and not mill off those numbers.  You could have as big as 388 cubic inches in a stock 350 block.  ANd there is no limit to other mods, so you might have a lot of power.  1200 is about stock for a torque converter, but the stall speed changes with the changes in torque of an engine.  The quick and dirty test is to lock the brakes and stab the throttle.  The engine will jump to about the RPMs it is stalling at before the tires start to spin.
