The real advantage of the Ajustable Strut Rod is not to make it easyer at the alignment Shop. Under Hard Cornering the Stock Rods bend and then Spring back. This changes the alignment right when You need it most. There is a Tool made to Pull the Shock Mounts off.

After installing mine I had to keep checking the jam nuts, it would loosen off...so maybe keep an eye on them and snug them up once in a while.

I replaced mine a couple of years ago with heavy duty original type ,just for that reason, you've already got adjustment at the cam-bolt,they are more rugged than a hollow tube, and no jam nuts to vibrate loose

Did mine with the adjustable struts, I had a problem with the left side laying over on me. I put a little drop of lock tight on the jam nut's and haven't had any problem since.I was pretty upset because it happend the night I was packing to go to the C3VR gathering.I have had an alignment done after installing the rack & pinion and didn't have any trouble getting them loose. fp_vetter72 2008-09-26 03:36:03

How do you like your rack, did you find a big difference? What make of rack did you install?

Vette(s): 1982,150K,Renegade CFI,Hooker Side Pipes,85 fuel pump,Bilsteins,HD suspension, Aluminum radiator, SharkBar/w 5-Point Restraints. 3:73 gears coming soon.
Same here, I installed the HD Adjustables with the helm joint bushings; good idea on the Lock Tight as I have to regularly check my jam nuts.
The difference these made for me was a tighter rear end while cornering which also made for touchier steering, but that is what I wanted.
