'82 CE won't start

Yesterday, my car started effortlessly. Now, I turn the key, the engine trys to turn over but it won't start. I let it crank 5 or 6 times and then give up. I let it sit thinking I may have flooded the engine, but when I went back 2 hours later, it still won't start. Does anyone have a starting point to help me out? Thanks for your help.

Had the same problem with my CE last year. Disconnect the fuel line from #1 injector. Bump the strater and see if gas flows, if not I would suspect it is your fuel relay, which went bad in mine. Let me know if this works, I went through the whole troubleshooting process!!! You can answer/ask here or via email.

Thanks 82dukman. Is the fuel relay on the fuse panel? I see a fuel pump fuse at the top of the fuse panel. I have the 82 Assembly Manual from Mid America, do you know what part of the assembly the fule relay would be found? Thanks again....Richard

82dukman, thanks again for your help. The fix was way over my head. I took it to my mechanic, a multiple Corvette owner himself, and after 2.5 hours, he found the problem. The fuel relay was okay. The relay was cutting in and out and that was causing pressure in the fuel pump to cut in and out. Since the relay was okay, it had to be something else. It turns out, the wires coming into the relay had corroded up the line somewhere causing other problems too. My mechanic will basically have to perform a bypass surgery if I understand his description. In any case, you can imagine how difficult this problem was to diagnose, especially with the placement or the ECU and relay in that tight little space.

PS. The Corvette is up for sale. I just got married and I have some upgrades I want to make to my home for my new family. If you know anyone in California looking for an 82CE, this one is in good condition.
