I am experiencing a shifter vibration which starts at 60 mph. The entire front suspension (rubber, coils and shocks) and the drive line have been replaced. The car is a '78 L-82 4-Speed with 97K. The previous owner said that the problem has persisted since at least 40K. I would like to know if anyone else has seen this problem. I don't want to rebuild the tranny if it doesn't need it. Thanks.

Hi I had somewhat the same thing on my 68 and I changed the u-joints on the drive shaft and that fixed it, good luck.

I wouldn't overlook a wheel weight being missing either. I had a vibration also abot 75, drove me nuts, finally after having the tires changes and rebalanced it magically went away. Could be cheap to go to a garage and have them pulll the wheels and just throw them on the balancer, never know what you may find.
