Finally digging into the engine compartment and noticed that the oil pressure line is connected to the top rather than into the oil filter housing.
Has anyone ever seen this or know if this is correct?
It has the plastic tube and flared out fitting that has the correct fitting into the engine!

My '73 L82 - line and fitting connected to the top of the block just behind the intake manifold. Looks like I'll be doing some cleaning up back there !!

I recommend replacing the plastic oil pressure line with one made of copper of the same size. Sooner or later the plastic line will leak and drip on your radio.
