I have the borg warner super t 10  how  do I bolt the hurst shifter on trans?  Do I need some kind of bracket or will it bolt right on?  This is on the 80 vette

First, you'll need to determine if the trans tailhousing HAS provisions to bolt on a shift bracket. Since the Shark cars had shifters that actually mounted to the trans crossmember, some tailhousings may not have the bolts holes required for mounting a shifter bracket. That being said, many cars did have Hurst(or other aftermarket brand) shifters installed. Make sure you have the bolt holes in the tailhousing, and if you do, then be sure to get a shifter that has the mounting brackets required.

Here's some pics of a Muncie trans with a Hurst CP shifter, to give you an idea of what the bracketry looks like. Your BW Super T10 will be the same.

If I remember correctly on my '81, the shifter did bolt onto the crossmember. '80-'82's used the same crossmember.

I may even have some of those parts laying around someplace.

Adam my shifter looks just like yours except it has a dog leg lever closest to trans. Yours looks like my oem shifter levers.  If i get the correct bracket will it fit?  The rods that I have on my car now are all adjustable, I changed the a good while ago. Can I do this with the trans still in the car?

You can change the shifter with the trans in the car, but it is a major pain...unless you have small hands. The original shifter is tough to get out, since the handle is not removable. You'll of course have to remove the ball & reverse lock-out linkage on the handle, and both of the shift boots. Take all of the linkage off the trans and shifter, then all of the bolts holding the shifter to the trans crossmember....and then wiggle, snake, twist, turn, and say a few(many, actually) choice words to get the shifter out.
You should be able to buy the correct adapter plate for the Hurst shifter from one of the mail order parts places, like Jegs, or Summit....possibly even one of the Corvette parts vendors, such as one of the forum Sponsors here. If not, try Kajun Jon ...he will probably have what you need. Thumbs Up

I was told by Hurst that the only shifter that will fit my car with out modification was the  discontinued 3910028  he said the other shifters wont work. Does any body have a 80 with a hurst shifter? and what kind do they have  and what install kit

The trans in the pics I posted earlier is in a '71 Corvette that belongs to another member here(I took those pics after I had rebuilt it).
Don't know why there would be a difference in the '80/'81 that would keep you from using the same shifter.... Question

Well in this case dont asked the experts ask  the guys on the c3 forum.  Found out that my shifter will work, after research and talking to a different guy at hurst shifters.  They cross ref my number 3915405 and found out it was the same shifter as 3910028 only difference the 0028 is with a handle. The mounting bracket is what I have to get and the  linkage.  The made me think if I did not have the 3910028 that is discontinued I was out of luck nothing else would not fit with out modification.
