Vette(s): 1970 454 4 speed A/C power everything else
Does anyone know if the 1970 454 was actually 390 hp/500 ft lbs, or higher?

Chev rated it at 390 HP at 4800 RPM, and 500 ftlb at 3400 RPM.

Probably was. After '70, GM began deliberately underrating HP figures for consumer insurance purposes, eventually went to net figures, and began addin smog equipment.
