Hi I am considering putting an overdive transmission but am not sure which one to go with. The engine is currently being built and am hoping it will produce 400+ hp and 400+ torque (383 cid). If any one knows first hand with these two swaps and cares to share, I would greatly appreciate it. This car will be a daily driver. -Thanks Tom

Vette(s): Owned a Red 75 corvette between 1985-1993. Recently purchased a 76 buckskin Corvette.
OK, I have several 200 4R's that I have rebuilt and is the transmission of choice for me.
I have looked at all the other threads, but all of them have not answered my question.
When going from a TH350 to a 2004R, what am I suppost to do with the crossmember? I know the TH350's mount location is 4" further forward than the 200 4R's mount location. For my G-body cutlass, all I needed was an OD crosmember.
I know that the TH400 crossmember will interchange easily with the 200 4R, as the mount location is very close. Thats why redwingvette's was an easier swap.
So can I move it back and redrill, or do I have to find a TH400 crossmember?

Bowtie Overdrives sells a crossmember for the 200r4, or you can modify your existing crossmember.
