Vette(s): 1969 Daytona Yellow. 350 / Automatic.
My starter is loose again. What's the torque required on those bolts? Should I use some type of lock-tite? I hate the noise it makes when this happens. Am I in danger of knocking teeth off the flywheel (flexplate) or starter? And what am I doing up at this hour worrying about it?
One of these days I'll finish my to-do list before something else pops up.

If I remember correctly, Chevy starter bolts have non removable washers on them. They are special...I believe grade 8. Not that this would make a dif on coming loose unless those washers somehow locked. Never seen a lock washeer used where torque is required. Maybe grab a couple starter bolts from the UAPS (universal auto parts store)?
My Christmas present to ME! Bought Sat 11-30-2013. 72, 350 4 spd, Silver with blue interior...Can't you just hear Pablo Cruz playing in the background?
