I HAVE BOUGHT A 1969 VETTE,THE INSIDE CONSOLE SAYS IT'S A 350CI 370HP MOTOR.
I CAN NOT FIND ANY INFO  ON A 370HP MOTOR,
THE VIN # ON MOTOR MATCHES THE VIN # ON THE CAR.

The 350 370hp motor is an LT-1. It didn't come out until the '70 model year and was only rated at 370 hp for that model year.

It's possible that:

you have a very, very late build '69 equipped that way;

someone simply replaced the console ID plate with the LT-1 plate;

it could be a genuine LT-1 engine someone installed and restamped the block to match the VIN;

the car is a '70 somehow was registered as a '69.

My guess the most likely is that someone replaced the ID plate on the console. Run the VIN on the decoder under "Tools" on the drop down bar at the top of the C3VR page and it can tell you for sure what year car you have. Engine codes off the block can hep someone here deciper what engine block you have.

Also, according the The Corvette Black Book, early '70 models may have '69 engine codes.

Let us know what you can find out and what you have.

 if you have a 350-370 motor, you have a solid lifter cam,, does it sound like a can full of rocks shaking when it starts,, if not you have been buffaaallloood, chances are someone just changed the rating plate,, BUTTTT if you do have a true lt1,,hang on to it,rd

I'm pretty sure that no LT-1's were installed in '69 cars, but all of the parts were availble from the dealer & could be installed in new '69's due to the extended production that year.  I know someone who has a car equipped this way.

What is stamped next to the VIN on the Block?

It should be a "V" some #'s & then some letters.

Also, what is the last 5 #'s of your VIN

Here's a link to '69 engine codes:

I think if it is late enough build '69, it could very well have been assembled with parts meant for the '70 production run. Wouldn't be the first time thats ever happened on the Corvette line.
'69, 350hp(L46) 350 engine suffix codes
HW =Q-jet/4speed
HX =Q-jet/4spd/A/C
GD =Q-jet/4spd/A/C/transistor ign

'70, 370hp(LT1) 350 engine suffix codes
CTU =Holley/4spd/trans. ign
CTK =Holley/4spd/trans. ign(CTK was a new engine suffix code in 1970, but the engine itself was the same.)
