1969 350-350HP Oil pan

Can anyone please tell me the correct oil pan for my engine. My rebuilder claims that the pan on the car was for a regular 350 block and not a "hard cornering" Vette!
He wants me to install a proper one that will not allow oil to slosh around.

I'm betting that they are the same pan. An antislosh pan wasn't the kind of option that GM would have bothered with since the marketing department didn't talk to the engineers. Plus, even if it was a good idea the beancounters wouldn't let them do it anyway.

Seriously though, if you do find out what the difference is (if any), let me know. I've never had my own off.

I spoke to my guy for more details and he said that it is a larger capacity oil pan and inside is what's called a "windage tray"?

I think GM made 2 pans for the 350. A 5 qt & a 6 qt oil pan. The "windage tray" was really just a baffle that bolted to the bottom of the block off the main bearing caps with special bolts.

A true windage tray or anti slosh control would be a diamond shaped cavity in the bottom of the pan ensuring that oil was always present in the pick up area.

What I do know for sure is that it takes 5 quarts of oil for an oil change and my engine is an HX (350/350, MT)suffix with its original oil pan and all matching numbers.

Could the higher capacity pan have come out with the LT1 option in '70?
