Thanks all sorted now. Checked power to motor and earth connection, 12+ volts at motor corroded connections at motor and at switch. Ill clean all them off. Once i had moved the switch back and forth i got movement in the motor. So thanks for all your help again. Regards, brian

I think you will all enjoy this one.

Here goes. I had to change my windscreen due to age (delamination). That all went well, ive been checking all electrics in the car following dash lights etc and some other issues. Went to check the wipers to ensure all was well on the new screen , and nothing. Ive judt started checking this out question. Is there anything comes to mind with anyone, before i progress further. As all was working before i changed the screen. Could be just coincidence. But does seem strange. Thanks in advance for your help. Redborderreivers.

Ok sorted problem. Check for volts at motor connections and earth from motor. 12v + at supply to motor but corrosion/fouling on terminals, initially cleaned terminals and moved switch back and forth ,started to get the motor working, continued operating switch and fully cleaning terminals started to get all motor speeds and intermittent operation, so thanks to all for input, looks like its same problem thats been mentioned befor regarding the oxidation on the fuseboard. Just requires all terminals to be   cleaned and all operations are returning. To be honest i was concerned that i may have damaged the intermittent wipe control board. But all seems operational, thanks again for all the help, best regards   brian

Brian, Glad you got that sorted.

I guess oxidisation is a bit of a problem for you up there in "Vera country"!😄

Well did have it sorted but lost supply again. When i disconnect the intetmittent module i get single speed back. Im Now going to loop out this module as per a post of another site where he looped the pink to pink and black wire. And tge brown to rown and white. To regain all speeds except intermittant. My question is does anyone have a wiring diagram showing this module and its connection to the wiper switch and wiper motor. It isnt clear on the 1979 wiring diagram. My l82 has the intermittant module located under the centre console as opposed to later models having it in the resr right storage compartment.thanks brian

Brian, Sorry to hear you are having issues again.

I have a pdf of the 1978 Electrical Troubleshooting Manual, which has a wiring diagram and explanation of operation of the pulse/wash/wipe/delay system. Not sure I can post it on here, but if drop me a PM with an email I can send it over. I think it'll be the same as your car. The control module on ours is under the centre console.

When we bought the car the rather heath Robinson connector in the fuse board had been removed and a fuse put in the slot it came from. That meant I have no delay, but I think both speeds (it was 36 years ago!) It turned out that the problem was the relay for the module. I found a replacement at Lectric Limited in the US, and swapped that. I re-fitted the odd connector and got everything back. I have to say that it's a bit "flakey" at times, probably due to dirt in the switch, but while it's working 99% of the time, I'm not getting involved in breaking down the switch!

Anyway, if you'd like the manual, let me know. We're away for a few days now (Corvette Club France trip Provence), so it may be a day or so....
