On my 72 will the wipers work off the wiper switch if the solenoid under the dash is not plugged in

Not sure, but I don thin so. I think the solenoid signals the wiper door to open...the door has to be open before the wipers will operate. Someone else may have better info.

I didnt find the connector yet for the wiper solenoid so I'll have to go back and look again. Of course while the center console was out I didnt check to see if the wipers would work so I never gave thought about any connections to that solenoid. The switch out under the hood for the wipers I did by pass but the wipers still didnt work. At least I will have plenty of things to do! So many things to check out. The one thing I know for sure is that every thing can be made to work. All it takes is our retirement fund to get it working! I am sure once I get the car back I will have plenty more questions.
